Some people collect stamps. Some people collect vintage toys. You should collect songs. These are songs that you can play or, songs that you can play and sing. You play for fun. And, collecting songs is going to make your playing more fun. Invest in a 3 ring binder and a 3 ring hole puncher. Start with just a few songs. To your binder, add 1 or 2 songs per month. As you add songs to your binder, your skills will improve. Every song you add will make your playing fresh again. Your musician friends can look over your shoulder and play them with you. At get-togethers, friends and family can ask, "What songs can you play for us?". You can show them your book. All these things make your playing more fun and keeps it fresh and new again.
